Pranayama is the fourth limb of the 8-limb ashtanga yoga path. These intricate yogic breathing techniques develop sensitivity, strengthen the nervous system and expand creativity.

If Ujjayi breath is referred to a the uninterrupted, Viloma is the interrupted breath—the rebel, against the grain, against the flow. We are often taught to go with the flow, and though that is a wonderful thing to cultivate, so is being the flow. Viloma pranayama is great way to develop awareness of the different areas of your lungs and improve breath capacity.

Heart Centered meditation focuses on the light three inches behind the sternum, deep in your center, your true nature—underneath all the veils of ignorance we have created to survive. When ignorance doesn’t serve you anymore, the heart will open or when you are ready to move beyond survival, light becomes more apparent.
